I think the way forward for the tiny Gambia is the call for national unity. Let all political parties join the ruling party and share the responsibilities of carrying out the affairs of the country. From my own perspective if UDP/NRP, NADD, NCP, GPDP join the wagon of APRC we will have a perfect system of government in the entire universe. Vision 2020 will be realise and Gambia will become a modernize democratic government. Suppose with the unity of these political parties happen and the portfolios are assigned like below. We will have the best system in the world.

President : Alh. Yahya Jammeh
Vice President: Ousainou Darboe
Justice Minister: Halifa Sallah
Agriculture : Omar Jallow (OJ)
Local Government : Lamin Waa Juwara
Education : Seedia Jatta
Tourism : Hamat Bah
Defence : Edward Singhateh
Cleaning: Henry Gomez
President's Advicers:Dawda Jawara, Hassan Musa Camara, Sheriff Dibba

And so on.

Back again. Nobody really want to discuss about national unity whereby all political parties join the APRC and work towards the realization of vision 2020. This the the way forward, anyone thinking that with the coliation of UDP/NRP/NADD will unseat Yahya A.J.J.Jammeh is having a day dream. Lets come together and work for the development of our dear motherland. We have been trying multi party system for years and nothing comes out of it only division, segregation, tribalism and hatred. Why can't we put aside and work in name of unity for better Gambia. The so called Gambian intellectuals should also come back home. We need people like Momoodou ( The moderator), Kondongrong, Kayjatta, Denton, Janyanfara, and my warrior KOBO, Baldeh and others. It is time for repariation. Come home and work for your country.

Why are they so called intellectuals. I think the term is derogative. It does not help your call for a unity.

In addition i am not aware of a minister for cleaning. Why is that needed and why Gomez should do that.

It will be a new position as Henry Gomez have vast knowledge in cleaning. In this case no one will be force for the Set Settal as what has been going on. We will have a healthy environment. The reason been is that I try to give position as to their area of specialization.

Good God am i dreaming oh what ! You might just go and say let there be no election no opposition to tyrany and let more injustice flow. What i say to all this is that come what may people will oppose each other on the political field, domestic and economic domains where ever one lives . Just keep on dreaming brothers yhe real world is alive and moving on for our dear motherland Allah will save it Himself

Why do we need elections when it never bring change/progess but insighting voilence, hatred, segregation, tribalism and division. Do you think if positions are assigned to various individuals from various political parties, there won't be progress. How can that bring dictatoship. The national assembly will constitute of equal representations of all the parties. This will be the most effective system one can ever imagine. There will be check and balances between the judiciary, legislature and the executives. Are you telling me that when all are involve in nation building we won't advance? Why are people crying for unity between the opposition parties but not with the present ruling party. come on, lets tell the truth and stop daydreaming thinking that the unify oppostion will make any difference. This year's election will certainly be the death of NADD, UDP/NRP parties. We should not suffer from fixity, lets try to adopt changes and try new system of ruling.

THANKS FOR YOUR OFFER EBRA. HOWEVER THERE IS NO JOB IN THE GAMBIA TO GO TO. IF JAMMEH CANNOT WORK WITH NATIONAL ASSETS LIKE DR. SIDAT JOBE , OUSMAN KORO CEESAY , HALIFA SALLAH ( SIDIA JATTA AND SAM SARR), FAFA MBAYE, AND MANY OTHERS ; IT IS CLEARLY HARD TO SEE THAT THE REGIME HAS A PROBLEM.THESE PEOPLE BASICALLY HAVE NO PERSONAL AGENDA. ALL THEY WANT IS A BETTER GAMBIA , POLITICALL AND ECONOMICALLY.I AM NOT SURPRISED THAT YOU CALLED US "SO-CALLED INTELLCTUALS". DO YOU REMEMBER WHEN JAMMEH LABELED "INTELLECTUALS" AS THE "ILLEGITIMATE SONS OF AFRICA" ? DO YOU REALIZE THAT YOU AND YOUR GOVERNMENT HAVE A FEAR AND CONTEMPT FOR ANY FORM OF ENLIGHTENMENT ?
NOW YOU STILL SEEM TO BE ADVOCATING FOR A ONE PARTY SYSTEM IN THE GAMBIA .I AM JUST AMAZED AT HOW LITTLE SOME PEOPLE HAVE LEARNED DESPITE ALL THESE YEARS OF HISTORICAL EXPERIENCE.ONE PARTY SYSTEMS ARE A DISASTER BECAUSE THEY INVARIABLY STIFLE DIALOGUE AND DEBATE OVER CONTENTIOUS ISSUES.
HOW MANY TIMES DO WE HAVE TO SAY THAT "DEMOCRACY WORKS BEST WHERE THERE IS NO MONOPOLY OF IDEAS ; WHERE THERE IS NO ONE PERSON THAT HOLDS ON TO POWER ETERNALLY".
YOU SAID WE HAVE BEEN TRYING MULTI-PARTY SYSTEM FOR YEARS NAD ALL WE END UP WITH IS DIVISION ,...,AND HATRED. WELL THAT IS BECAUSE YOU AND YOUR GOVERNMENT IN BANJUL (OR KANILAI?) IS CONTINUOSLY UNDERMINING MULTI-PARTY DEMOCRACY IN THE GAMBIA , BECAUSE YOU WANT , AND JAMMEH WANT TO BE A LIFE-PRESIDENT.
IT IS TRUE( DR. JAMMEH ?) DID SOME GREAT STRIDES IN INFRASTRUCTURAL DEVELOPMENT THAT JAWARA HAS FAILED TO DO .BUT WOULD YOU AGREE WITH ME THAT JAMMEH IS VERY TERRIBLE AS FAR AS FREEDOMS AND LIBERTY ARE CONCERN. AND NO DOUBT THE GUY IS CORRUPT AND UNACCOUNTABLE.THIS MAN THINKS BECAUSE HE RISKED HIS LIFE TO OUSTER JAWARA 'S CORRUPT REGIME HE SHOULD HAVE A FREE REIGN , AND FORGOT THAT THE GAMBIA INDEED BELONGS TO THE ORDINARY GAMBIANS.
BUT MY MAIN CONCERN IS YOU EBRA. I DO NOT KNOW WHAT STAGE IN LIFE YOU ARE AT. HOWEVER , IT RISKY TO BASE YOUR POLITICAL PHILOSOPHY ON THE FURTHERANCE OF A SINGLE RULING CLASS. BOTH MACHIAVELLI AND MILTON FELL TO THIS TEMPTAION.THE GAMBIAN PEOPLE MUST NOT BE DEHUMANIZED BY JAMMEH'S REGIME. THE RECENT AU. SUMMIT SHOULD TELL YOU THAT JAMMEH IS DEPENDENT ON "INTERNATIONAL PANHANDLING" ( CALL IT BEGGING IF YOU LIKE).THE ECONOMY IS TERRIBLE SO MUCH THAT WE IN THE DIASPORA HAVE TO CONSTANTLY REMIT MONEY HOME TO KEEP OUR FAMILIES , FRIENDS AND OTHERS WEATHER THE POLITICAL AND ECONOMIC STORM THAT YOU AND JAMMEH HAVE CREATED AND CONTINUE TO CREATE DAY BY DAY.
WE WOULD LIKE JAMMEH TO ALLOW FREE AND FAIR ELECTIONS SO GAMBIANS CAN ELECT NEW LEADRES WHO WILL CONTINUE FRON WHERE HE STOPS.HE DID A "GOOD JOB" BUT IT IS ABOUT TIME ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. "JAMMEH JIPPO".

Kayjatta, Thanks for your reply. With reference to the so called intellectuals I mentioned here does not mean those names on my list. The list of names are promising people thats the reason I say we need such people. I really mean the fake ones,we have them here in US. I live in USA like you and am expose to what democracy brings. The reason am calling on national unity is the situation back home right now which is ridiculous. Gambia have never experience this kind of ruling even during the colonial times. But what can we do to bring difference? I am never a support of the present regime and will never be unless there is national unity. I wish you go back and check all my postings, always on the opposing side. My little brother of 14 years has been molestated, tortured and detained by the NIAs for been a subscriber to Freedomnewspaper and am also on the list of wanted guys. But that never worries me thats like when a donkey fart in Dakar am here in Kansas
