Whiles many people are making all kinds of noice about the elections, i for one is pesimistic as i can be about the election. Call me synical but i strongly belief that the there is no point in voting in an election where the results are already decided. First, the electorial commision is bullied to submission and its former members subjected to arrests and intimidation. Second, jammeh has packed it with loyalists. Take Imam Fatty for instance, he is a known JALI for the president. His friday sermons are nothing but political speaches. Now jammeh wants to choose a religious person so the commision could be credible in the eyes of the public and at the same time choose someone he can manipulate. This is not the first time a religious person has been choosen for the task. Take Bishop Telewa Jhonson for example, when he tried to be fare, he was booted out. Imam fatty is either going to be contrlolled or be kicked out. However i do not think the Imam needs any prodding to do the dirty job. He has long been sleeping with the devil. HOw does an Imam associate himself with these murderous goon?

I think eventually, the solution in the gambia might come down to someone sticking the barrel of a gun on jammehs temple and forcing him out. This useless exercice of soiled democracy is nothing but a waste of time and money.
