just read this on wwww.dailyobserver.gm
Four of the six defence lawyers representing, Captain Bunja Darboe and seven others in the wake of the March 21 abortive coup plot, have withdrawn their representation from the trial.
The four counsel- Lamin Camara, Lamin Mboge and Musa Batchilly and Lamin Jobarteh have indicated their intention to withdrawl from the case.
On his part, one of the two remaining defence counsel Borry Touray, told the court that the Criminal Procedure Code is silent about the rights to legal representation.
Lawyer Touray said, “If the accused are not provided with a counsel, the defence will enter for habeas corpus.”

Lawyer Touray said, “If the accused are not provided with a counsel, the defence will enter for habeas corpus

Now what happens

Is there any explanation why the four lawyers withdrew from the case? Can they do that? How come they can not get another lawyer.
How can a nation objectively try people who allegedly set up a coup. Doesn't there sound like alot of bias in that. Are you guilty until proven innocent in this type of court system or the reverse?

you are guilty until proven guilty. The lawyers fear for their lives. Ask Osman Sillah who was shot and lost a kidney.

GUILTY UNTIL PROVEN INNOCENT.

I respect their decision as the case of treason is a very serious issue and they defendants need a fair trial. So if you are sure they will not have one,why bother?

NO. IT IS GUILTY UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY. IT WAS NOT A TYPOGRAPHICAL ERROR. I DID IT ON PURPOSE.

This is what i have been telling anyone listening. Free trial is impossible the suspects were convicted the day they were paraded in front of the media and forced to confess. What is the point of a trial if the defendants are already forced to confess? Our country have desended in to law of the jungle. Only those with guns have rights. The painful thing to watch is that people pretend that there is a parliament or that there is a judiciary. The parliament is a rubber stamp and the judiciary are the hangmen with nooses on their hands and guns to their heads. The sad thing is that seemingly responsible people are perticipating in this system. Jammeh actually never toture people but he has people doing his biding. It is hard to immergine educated people like AK Savage or Ndondi Njie perticipating in shuch evil endavors.
