OK I HAVE SEEN THEM
1. IF I WERE A HEAD OF DEPT AND STAFF BROKE RULES WHAT WOULD I DO. THIS A COMPLEX ONE. HOWEVER I WILL ASK YOU INSTAED WHY IS DOES EVERY STAFF SEEM BREAKING THE RULE. WHY IS IT THAT NO ONE SEEM TO MEET YOUR STANDARDS. ISNT IT TIME FOR A SELF REVIEW. 2.WELL GAMBIANS CANNOT DENY THESE OFFERE BECAUSE MOST ARE PUBLIC OFFICERS ALREADY. DENYING AN OFFER MAY LEAD TO TO DISMISSAL WITH NO QUESTIONS ASKED. 3.AS TO WHETHER THEY ARE GUILTY I CANNOT ASCERTAIN. I KNOW FOR A FACT THE THE PUBLIC SERVICE ACT HAS A CLEARLY DEFINE DISCIPLINARY PROCEDURE TO BE FOLLOWED WHICH UNFORTUNATELY HAVE NOT BEEN FOLLOWED. WRNING LETTERS, SUSPENSIONS ETC

I HAVE ADDED YOUR LIST TO THE POSTING. WE WILL MAKE ONE LONG LIST. THERE ARETALEST SOME ONE HUNDRED MORE NAMES ATLEST ON MY ESTIMATE
Indeed the list is long. I have fews questions for you:
1. All those on the list were they wrongfully dismissed? 2. If you were a head of dept not a head of state , what would you do to staff who break rules and regulations?
3. Most of those guys listed especially soldiers have records of human rights abuse. So beause they have fallen out with Jammeh, they are now not villains but heros?
4. Is it correct to have ministers serving for life?
5. Can't Gambians have the honour to decline offers of appointment from jammeh if they know they would sooner or later be fired?
Thanks
KONS here they are. On the contrary you are one of the sharpest on this forum |

I FORGOT. NO MINISTER SHOULD NOT SERVE FOR LIFE. BUT WE NEED CONTINUITY AND SOME SANITY IN THE WAY THEY ARE ASKED TO LEAVE OFFICE. THEY ARE SENIOR CITIZENS WHO WORKED FOR THE COUNTRY AMND SOME BASIC DESCENCY IS CALLED FOR.
Like they say in the gambia they are not POTI MEWW(cans of milk, that you drink and throw away the tins). They hold important national secrets and policies and should not be allowed to waste with all their experiences. Infact many are highly educated gambians. Now wonder they are all in the United nations systems. Today ex gambian ministers are managing the country of East Timor and am proud of some of them like Ismaila Ceesay, who although not good for Gambia is doing well for the UN. The same for Hassan Jallow, and Ousman Jammeh on the UN tribunals for Rwanda. Some are now on the Commissions for Sierraleone.
UNFORTUNATELY, ONLY GAMBIA IS THE LOOSER. WE NEVER VALUE THINGS WE HAVE UNTIL WE LOOSE THEM. ITS FUNNY THAT SOME ARE NOW UNITED NATIONS EMMISSARIES TO THE GAMBIA SENT TO MEET JUNKUNG. I WONDER HOW HE FEELS WHEN HE MEETS THEM. THEY HAVE BECOME USEFUL INTERNATIONAL CIVIL SERVANTS. HASSAN JALLOW COMES TO MIND WHO WAS FIRED AS HIGH COURT JUDGE WITHOUT GOING THROUGH THE CONSTITUTIONAL REQUIREMENST WHICH STATES THAT SUCH OFFICERS COULD ONLY BE REOVED FROM OFFICE BY RESOLUTION OF 2/3RD MAJORITY OF THE NATIONAL ASSEMBLY AFETR A THOROUGH INVESTIGATION AND CONCLUSIVE EVIDENCE OF ABUSE OF OFFICE. IT NEVER HAPPENED. |

Well Brothers/sisters,
I like some comments we are facing something serious.
(1)From military dictatorship... to elective Dictatorship.Moving from the frying pan to the actual fire.Every where in the Gambia is burning. No joke!
(2)The dictatorship uppish of democracy had without warning upstarted before our very eyes and slowly slowly engolved everybody.
My reasons are thus:
First the AFPRC on the referendum, had changed the very clause important to every democratic state....The presidential term limit
Then they Changed the old system of winning party PMs becoming parliamentarians.Which is good and Bad at the same time.Good for the Gambia because of our economic situation where people who are both MPs and ministers would receive one salary and maybe some tocken for their ministerial post. While bad in a real democracy because it will merge both the executive and legislature into one thus having the executive influencing decisions opon the legislature.
But truely despite the changes, does it make any difference in our country?I think the only difference it made is economic hardship on the increase!
Then they Changed all the system of voting for chiefs before our eyes(The last voted chief I knew was Seyfo Morro Jawla who the government was against infavour of their chosen APRC promoter kebba fanta komma].But despite that the people of Sami overwelmingly voted for Morro. All of a sudden the very APRC turned against kebba fanta sullying him b4 his people acusing him of being a hypocrete, feeble and left him groanig with shame and pain.
As if not enough, they went ahead to change the election of village heads and instead choose their party supporters to become chiefs and Alkalos.
How do you expect MPs to do their job under seige? Can you sit on hot iron and pretend to be calm during a very important meeting with a jump?
I agree with Hon. Jane Colley Faye when he said "any proposal brought forward by the executive, they the APRC parliamentarians will pass it in the House"
What else do you expect them to do?If they are fired by the big man, they not only loose their membership of the party but hey loose their seat in parliament!
Maybe not all can be like me and you I can never be a parliamentarian for the APRC or their cabinet minister with a rope round my nose.NEVER
Peace Janyanfara |

Folks,
Is the GPTC also not dead ? How many lost their jobs, ranging from mechanics to drivers, to conductors etc..
With the closure of GCU (Gambia Cooperative Union), i think the whole Gambia was fired-ranging from farmers, office staffers, clerks, community heads etc..
Some hotels, if i remember quite well, were also closed. The beaches were also closed for the bumsters, and our brothers and sister were maltreated badly.
Some newspapers and radio stations were also closed. All the editors, staffers, sponsors and fans to them also fired.
I cannot say where the list is heading us to. All i know, as i browse through this topic, i begin to to have a flash back of memory over the lost of loved ones. I am sure the same penetrates the blood veins of others. This is no exergeration. It is really painful. I wish we were able to name all, for the records.
Negative history is already recorded. It cannot get any worst than we've seen. Within a 12-year period, such human dehumanization and economic loss attached itself to the Gambia, at the force and speed we observed.
