Gainako Staffer

News reaching us unveiled that IEC's Dondeh Njie just received marching orders couple of hours ago.He was seen being escorted out by atleast three Nia officials. The fire of Dondeh is connected to the ongoing registration of voters. It is believed that Dondeh refused to accept being used as a tool, and that really doesn't please his boss-Jammeh, who ordered the Nia to boot him out. As at now, he is not under arrest, but panic gripped some opposition members and a press statement is expected later from the Nadd camp. The source that choose to be anonymous shall be well protected, and is a long time news supplier to Gainako. In a semilar vein, it is expected that one Tamba, relative and associate to jammeh will replace in view of doing the dirty job for Jammeh. The press release of the opposition is likely to dwell on the unconstitutionality of the act of fire and replacement by someone who won't be for our national interest.

The other problem with Dondeh is that how he could have consulted with the "stakeholder" meaning the president as if Junkung is the only political being in the gambia. Personally i think in contacting the governmenet about registrations without talking to the opposition parties as well will always haunt his integrity. Every party is a stakeholder. See Observer editorial on IEC abdicating constitutional independence. Since he started it, he should have continued to do as told. ELECTIONS ARE NOT WON OR LOST THROUGH CAMPAINGS OR ACCESS TO MEDIA BUT BY CONTROLLING WHO GETS A VOTERS CARD.

i wish him the best OF LUCK AND HOPE IT WILL BE LESSON FOR THE OPPOSITION TO UNITE ONCE AGAIN

In a similar sad incident, some nadd officials helping in the supplementary registration of voters are said to be arrested. It is unknown as at now how many are, but the nadd camp is busy consulting for further action.

Well said master kondorong. Though short a piece, but the wisdom of it can be only seen by people who have the Gambia at heart. If power struggle, greed, and selfishness ever strikes associations, then such becomes more dangerous as they legitimise oppressing powers.

While i continue to be a sympathiser to all the oppressed and those likely to be victims soon, the blame of which should be crowned on the opposition. Only the truth shall set us all free, and where we choose to mask the truth as a nation, then our society is doomed for eternity. The attitude of the opposition confirms that even if they succeed, we are going from the cooking pot (military dictatoship) to the frying fan (intellectual dictatorship). The later is worst.

Sad moments, and the future sky is filled with dark clouds. As we live, so we have hope.......In Almighty's name.

How comes only Junkung can hire and fire the so called IEC officials?I think it was meant to be independent from all political party influences?

No wonder I call it the JCEC[Jammeh's Chosen Electoral Commision] for only Jammeh has a voice on what ever is to happen in the Gambia today.

A country so called by Jammeh falsely as the African supper Power while even an unborn baby in his/her mother's womb knows the Gambia is the forth poorest country in the whole.

I sometimes get sick to my stomach when I see some people praising Jammeh for the way he is leading us all through the rough seas.I belief in every one's freedom to exercise his/her choise of party or leader for our dear country but I also think they should be told by those supporters when ever they go wrong.I don't think I for one will ever ever follower a leader who cares not about my views no way I cannot do anything about your leadership but you will not have me slavishly following you.I had independence in 1965.So I was born free.

What is going to be a suprise is that people would have already started lobbying to repalce Dondeh. Gambians have themselves to blame for the problems. THERE IS AN ENDLESS NUMBER OF PEOPLE READY TO BE PART OF THE SYCOPHANCY. GAMBIANKO MANKEH SAAMUTA NYOTI.

Jany.,

From the wisdom of Dr. Bob Marley, we know mental slavery is worst.Until, we as a nation, say no to mental slavery and refused to be tools for other humans, the pathetic virus will dwell within us.

To accept to be a tool means to accept Jammeh's slavery-to dance and sing by his music. I've always being with the view that some are just keeping jobs to live. For a fact, not one bit of a surprise over Njie's sacking. How many in the past ? We cannot put all those numbers in any piece.

The third-eye i am trying to wear now is what will happen during this coming election ? How many more heads are we ready to loose ?

Only when Almighty God helps us, and i pray He does !!

Long list bro.., and makesure you obtain permission for space from the site owner. Be careful not to make people have flash-back of their loved ones-fire, killings, arrest, torture etc...
-May the souls of Deyda and Koro rest in perfect peace
-May the April 10 and 11 students be crowned matrys

I know that much starting. Good luck with that infinity lists.

For wati-koteng !

I hoe its not another type as Sarja Taal's sacked report subsequently dispelled as untrue by The Observer lately.

However if it is reliable Ndondeh must be congratulated to choose honesty, integrity and patriotism above corruption, materialism and opportunism. Furthermore there are high risks associated with certain high profile political jobs and you are subjected to balckmail and all kinds of threats to your life and family members. As the election is approaching and manipulations are being done let him be alerted to be security concious as he could be a target to silenced him by certain agents. Am really worried about what happened to Koro Ceesay and Deyda Hydara amonsgt others tragedically Former IEC Chairman G.J.Roberts has been used several times to dilute the election results and gave medicines that suits Jammeh, Yanks and APRC and can still be brought again as a stooge.

Kobo,

I am just getting back to the net to read ur posting. http://www.thepoint.gm/headlines1023.htm The story is also featured on the Point's edition, links above.

Reliable sources informed be that Dondeh seems to buy more the comments, suggestions and complains of the opposition-Nadd-Udp/Nrp, which eventually led to his fire. Infact, he is labelled a "sympathiser" to the opposition. Aziz Tamba is implicated in his sacking, as on saturday-my source disclosed that he vowed openly that Njie was going to be fired. Dondeh is just unlucky, but by no way an opposition sympathiser.

Sources close to the Nadd campaign complained that 'underage' and 'non citizen' registration is rampant, and Hon. Sallah was qouted as saying "they lost faith in the ongoing registration". For a fact, a press release was expected today, hopefully will affirm this.

With regards to Saja Taal's episode, i did receive the news tips too-apart from Sankareh's piece. By the way, i have high respect for Sankareh, his news links has always been verified. The story featured by the Observer of course confirms the rumour was on, as well as Saja was fine.

In 1999-2000, i greatly interacted with Saja, know him well, and of course have no malice for him, but the part of him am after is abetting a dictatorship by nasty means.

"Stories by the hour." The piece Sankareh wrote was also constructively written, without malice upon evaluation-my own observation.

Ndondi Njie deserved to be fired. Yes....it is unconstitutional for Jammeh to have fired him in the first place. BUT it was also unconstitutional for him to be hired in the first place. In fact the LAST legitimate IEC chair we had was in 1997 GJ Roberts. Gambians stood by and watched him being fired, and then Telewa Johnson being fired and then JG Roberts being fired AGAIN and now Ndondi Njie.....people, the IEC is a JOKE. The electoral process is a JOKE. Gambia is a JOKE. Let us stop the madness. Either Jammeh goes, or the madness continues. And Jammeh will never leave by the ballot. TAKE your PICK. I am here in state House, I know.
Peace.
