Mali PM Cheick Modibo Diarra resigns after army arrest BBC News 11 December 2012
The prime minister of Mali has resigned on state television, hours after being arrested by soldiers who were behind a military coup in March.
Cheick Modibo Diarra was detained on Monday at his home in the capital Bamako, reportedly on the orders of the coup leader, Capt Amadou Sanogo.

Django Sissoko named as Mali prime minister
BBC News: 11 December 2012 Malian interim President Diouncounda Traore has appointed a new PM, less than 24 hours after his predecessor was forced to resign by the military.
Django Sissoko, an official in the presidency, has been named to succeed Cheick Modibo Diarra, who has been under arrest since his resignation.
