| I wish I had a choice As to how I use my voice
To make all this noise
For the world to browse
Exposing the vice
Set by presidential precedence
In my poor tiny county so lacking in confidence

Perhaps the choice
Would have been made by the wise
Had we been in proper advise
Or even bigger in size
Or even juicier as a prize
Endowed with riches that entice
Alas all these are not our choice
Due to unfair prejudice

Sat in our huddles of device
Hiding from the realities that no eyes
See and no minds or hearts price
Left to suffer the lies
Set by presidential precedence
What became our national false pretense
As the world looks away from our pain so intense
I wonder how to make any sense
Of all this ignorance
Of our plight
But my reasoning took flight

Oh how I wish that I can change
That former smiling beauty now strange
As it constantly cries deranged
By the torture it has to endure in rage
By day and by night praying for change
But that is a hope seemingly out of range
Wallowing in the pool of misery
Or is that what is called destiny
If so decreed this calls for mutiny
The result of which I fear can be grave
But all this was set by presidential precedence
Covered by our national false pretense.

I know it is all of our wish to see the all thing over with now. It clearly serves a lesson for us all as Gambians.Hopefully never again after this one.
Keep them coming...

Alabaraka. All I do is sit twisting and twirling my fingers in sheer despair then do what I can do at the time...which is to type these frivolous lines. ...poems for release. ...Thanks for the nice comments

Abaraka baakeh nnakay inimbara. Perhaps this good but others claim we can do more. Lets just say it is decreed that we spoke out against what' s wrong, using our mouths, where we cannot for some reason then use other options which now include the web and this type of ventilation of our anger. Thanks for the input. Lets do this and those who can do something do their bit , all efforts geared towards unseating the despot. One day will be set for the harvest "inshallah" Them we can sit down to rejoice.Till then the struggle continues.

I dedicate this poem to the online fora , those who decided to to keep mute in the face of tyranny and also to the various persons inside and outside The Gambia who in one way or the other did something how ever minute in protest against tyranny and finally to those who lost their lives or livelihood during these hard times .

Thank you Kaanibaa. You are no lesser pillar along the path to liberating Gambia. You deserve honour in highest dignity. In our smaller ways, together we shall win. Truth shall triumph. Condolence to families of the tyrant's callous excesses.
