Is this stuff true ? If it is how can the US get the best man for the job? What is the point of elections by the people? I am confused, any experts on politics tell me,is there any point at all in such a "system" ?

Toubab 1020, at least they do it every four years, and anyone who succeeds to be president cannot force himself to be there for more than eight years. Whether you like it or not you have to vacate the seat of the presidency for someone else.
And the people can fight back too with all the money influence in American politics; how else can the people help elect a president, with grassroots organisations mushrooming every where and poor people donating to elect their choice of a president with as little a $5.
People know what and where their interest lies, and are fighting tooth and nail to protect those interest, challenging decisions to the highest court of the land that tends to subvert the will of the people.
Everybody knows where they stand on the issues; what are their interest and how to protect or advance them, and they fight it out in the arena of public opinion where they wage battles to win the hearts and minds of the people.
And the amazing thing is, after their nasty fights to elect a president, with the millions of dollars they have spent to influence the process on both sides, the losers with lick their wounds and live to fight another day in four years time.

OK, all you say is true, personally: I DO NOT GIVE MONEY TO POLITICAL CAUSES only charity I vote on election day after listening to the often unfulfilled promises of the politicians of all shades, personal greed and power are what they are ALL after. |
