The Uk is a little like Gambia in the rainy season, except not so much heat,BUT very similar chaos on the roads, despite most of the UK roads being good, and surface water drainage usually being OK.
Climate change, yes,but I think that it is part of the general cycle of the earth,I remember being told by the media a few years back that the UK would become like the Mediterranean countries, hot and dry ,errr....... not this year at least.
As opposed to MOST of Gambia's roads being bad,I couldn't find an up to date video on Utube ,showing the conditions that I would expect in the town of Barra,North Bank, water everywhere taking ages to drain away.

Now that nature commits much needed water on grass tops, wonder if the ban on hose pipes goes further. At least for the moment, water, water, day by day.

The water companies got caught out by nature, the hosepipe ban was meant to highlight to the public that water is a valuable resource and in short supply, all very good but now that the water companies are pushing for everyone to have a water meter, and there is so much flood water that cannot be utilised effectively, what will happen next when a very large percentage of consumers are on a meter ? yep, you guessed it,re enforce their words "valuable resource" and put the price up,"ah yes we have to look after the environment" they will say,err not, just make more and more money for their companies, MOST of which are foreign owned
