I was somewhat amazed at this gift, why?does a developing country really want technical books on American law donated to it ? "400 law books worth 60,000 dollars to the Female Lawyers Association-The Gambia (FLAG), at a ceremony held at its secretariat in Bakau."
Is the bloated money oriented legal system such as that adopted by the U.S.a model for Gambia? It is a very well known fact that a lawyer in the US is able to make VERY VERY big money from his job from others who are forced into the legal system to resolve disputes, and are often broken by "Legal Fees ",is such a system viable to "improve" the Gambian legal system ,where many Gambians have only enough money for the essentials of life ? I wonder, how many Groundnut seeds could have been bought with D60,000 ? Or how many operations could be performed by fully trained Gambian surgeons with properly equipped operating suites ,staffed by fully trained Gambian operating room staff? Would that money spent on law books be better spent on other items? Once again "donations",for influence, are all about MONEY and not PEOPLE who have very little of either. Are these type of donations that the people of The Gambia require?

"Simple is good" & I strongly dislike politics. You cannot defend the indefensible.
