Let Jammeh get to where he fits better. He is the biggest tax evader. This type of hype is not impressive.

Kobo, you can see where this commission is leading. On the onset it is going after the Bar Association members for dearing to boycott the courts and issue a statement against the wishes of the regime. Other folks will also be included in the commission just to mix it here and there, but any clear thinking person can see the route this is taking.

I think this President continue to make grave mistakes that does not serve him well. It is truly sad.

Except for courtesy of gentle conduct, it was proper to insult Jammeh for playing this nasty with Gambians. Jammeh is the most guilty law breaking criminal and tax evader. This is another opportunity for the affected persons to refuse taking bad orders from an unruly tyrant. Jammeh has no respect for anyone.

GAINAKO AND THE POINT NEWS EDITORIALS SPEAK VOLUMES FOR RIGHT THINKING MINDS; AND RIGHT TO THE POINTS IN TERMS IDEALS FOR GOOD GOVERNANCE,STEWARDSHIP, LEADERSHIP, RESPONSIBILITIES, ACCOUNTABILITY, TRANSPARENCY AND "DEFEATING CORRUPTION"?

WE AWAIT WHETHER "JUSTICE WILL GUIDE ACTIONS" AS SWORN UNDER OATH AND ALLEGIANCE PLEDGED TO SERVE THE NATION "WITHOUT FEAR AND FAVOUR" PREVAILS

AND LATEST GAINAKO NEWS WITH THESE COMMENTS;
quote:
"Members of the Gambia Bar Association Facing Tax Commission; How Dear Dared they Stand Against Gov't???

Members of the Gambia Bar Association are one by one being sermoned to face the recently created Tax Commission to examine their taxes and business dealings. First, it was Lawyer Ousainou Barboe; Surakarta Babucarr Samega Janneh, Cheyassin Ousman Secka., And Antouman Gaye. Today it was Ousman B. Sillah; Mariama Denton, Musa Bittaye and Sidney Wilson. Only two accountants so far Amadou Sanneh and Augustus Prom are thrown in the mix.

Many Gambians are begining to question the work of the commission and why they are focusing on lawyers who only run small business law firms. Others ask why they are not going after big businesses such as Africel, QuantumNet, the big private banks and other businesses? Is the government in fact going after the lawyers because they dear dared stand against the government in their recent protest for the prosecution and jailing of one of their own.. Moses Richards? All eyes are on this commission; their actions and time will proof whether this is a witch hunt or a genuine reason to crack down on tax fraud. Their guess list will tell a more vivid story. Again this commission's credibility is at stake if they failed to go after the President and his cabinet!"

Are these professionals (lawyers) really this broke or they're just pretending to be struggling?

Not surprising because nowadays when you ask Gambians how they are doing they all respond with "just managing."
