Justice Minister Frowns at Being Called Injustice Minister/dailynews.gm

Taking a snipe at The Daily News for allowing the ‘white people’ to pour scorn on the country’s leadership, including himself, Gambia’s Justice Minister has frowned at British MPs referring to him as Minister of Injustice.
Minister Edu Gomez came under-fire in January this year from British MPs when this paper published his criticism of British MPs, who called for international pressure on Gambia government for ongoing human rights violations in the country.
“British MPs should be concerned about the rights violations perpetuated by the British government, particularly in Iraq, rather than The Gambia,” Edu Gomez had told The Daily News.
The British MP however reacted, saying Minister Edu Gomez should be re-named injustice minister for trying to defend what they see as indefensible human right abuses in Gambia.
Nine months on, Edu Gomez seems to be still aggrieved by the criticisms of the British MPs and he did not hide it when we approached him for interview.
“I believe it was your paper [The Daily News] that reported that some British Members of Parliament say that I am the ‘Minister of Injustice.
“What disrespect! Even if they are saying it, I don’t think you people should denigrate your own minister of justice,” he said.
Gomez went on to describe former British prime minister, Tony Blair as prime minister of injustice, the prime minister of deceit and lies.
“Blair and George Bush deceived the whole world and they lied why you didn’t call them that?” he said.
“But you have the audacity to turn round and to publish what they said that I am the minister of injustice and you put it there and you enjoyed printing it.
“I would have declined an interview with The Daily News since you have the audacity to print that the British MPs say that I am the minister of injustice.”
What seems to pain Edu Gomez most was the mockery the former British High Commissioner, Phil Sinkinson in Gambia has made of him.
He said: “And even the former British High Commissioner at the time mockingly told me: ‘hey hey, I saw it in the The Daily News they call you minister of injustice’. He enjoyed it, but you guys gave him the leverage to do that.

He would say that wouldn't he,no news value in this rubbish.

"Simple is good" & I strongly dislike politics. You cannot defend the indefensible.
