It beats common sense that the government decided to raise taxes by figures unheard of in Gambia's history.

A 35% tax on a family head who makes only $1500 annually is a perfect recipe for encouraging corruption and accelerating brain drain.

What sensible person capable of earning that kind of money -in Gambia- would like to stay in the current workforce led by incompetent ritualist?

The older workers with large families would steal and the younger workers are seeking a oneway outbound ticket.

It is surprising that the opposition are not bundling these tax hikes and "kingdom talk" to seed fear into the electorates.... after all, it suppose to be an election year.

Is the government, which continuously dishes out loads of unbudgeted monies to every gathering of leeches.... broke?
