[The release reads: The Office of the President hereby informs the general public that the Gambia Writing Association has conferred the media title of "Naasiru Shahafa" (friend to the media in Arabic) on His Excellency the President of the Republic and shall henceforth be addressed as Sheikh Professor Alhaji Dr Yahya AJJ Jammeh Naasiru Deen, Naasiru Shahafa.] Office of the President, Statehouse, Banjul, The Gambia.

Not even Idi Amin Dada of Uganda can compete Jammeh on his titles. The latest really surprised me.

As you must know, I have previous for taking things on their face value and not checking before I respond I have come unstuck several times This was Gambian Humour instead of toubab humour,no wonder.

Following the Press Release issued on Tuesday the 1st of March 2011, The Office of The President hereby intends to clarify and inform the General Public that the religious title of NAASIRU DEEN conferred on His Excellency The President in consideration of his immense contribution to Islam, falls in the same category as his other titles like GMRG, FAAICL and IOM, etc.
Therefore, the Public is not obliged to add the title NAASIRU DEEN to His Excellency The President's name when addressing him.
In this regard we shall continue to address His Excellency The President as Sheikh Professor Alhaji Dr. Yahya A.J.J. Jammeh.
Isn't HE a modest guy ?
