Business entities warned against using president’s picture for commercial gains Africa » Gambia Friday, March 18, 2011 The Office of the President has issued a warning to those people particularly business entities that display the president’s pictures publicly, indiscriminately and mostly for commercial gains to henceforth only do so after obtaining permission from the Secretary General Office of The President. According to a media dispatch from the Presidency those found contravening this order will face the full force of the law.
The release reads: The Office of the President has observed that some individuals and businesses are in habit of using pictures of His Excellency the President, Sheikh Prof. Alhaji Dr Yahya Jammeh indiscriminately and mostly for commercial gains. This is to inform the General Public, particularly business entities, that henceforth anyone wishing to display His Excellency the President’s pictures publicly must only do so after obtaining permission from the Secretary General Office of the President.
