I often write about talk talk and no action,in this case talk talk has achieved the required result it seems,I can only go on what has been published on line and do not know the full story, but everyone appears content with the result,I hope that the complainant and his family have not been threatened or intimidated by the accused his family or friends,we shall never know as the whole story will never be told.

Thursday, February 10, 2011
The prosecution led by Inspector Jammeh on Wednesday, 9th of February 2011 informed the Brikama Magistrates Court, presided over by Magistrate Baboucarr Secka, that the state has decided to withdraw the charges against one Ebrima Bah,a native of Latriya village,Kombo North District of the West Coast Region, who was charged with threatening violence and wilful damage of property contrary to laws of The Gambia, 1990.

Inspector Jammeh informed the court that he received an affidavit from the complainant, Alasana Bah and the Attorney General's Chambers begging for the withdrawal of the case before the court. Prosecutor Jammeh told the court that the complainant said the family has discussed suggested that the complainant should forgive the accused person.

Prosecutor Jammeh then applied under Section 68 (1) of the Criminal Procedure Code to withdraw the charge against the accused as requested by the complainant. The application was granted by Magistrate Secka and he accordingly acquitted and discharged the accused but urged them to maintain the peace and swallow their pride.
