As events in Egypt unfold, all indications are that a weak, fragmented and unwilling opposition leaders are nowhere to be found to lead the uprising and force the dictator to give up power.
It has been 10 days since the uprising started and there appears to be no signs of strong opposition parties and leaders to join the ordinary citizens to force the government out of power.
Now, have these events raise more questions about Gambian opposition leaders' readiness and willingness to sacrifice and lead the people?
If this were to happen to Gambia, would current opposition leaders be willing to join ordinary citizens and demand change?
Has this in fact validated critics of Gambia's current opposition parties that they are dead or rendered ineffective?
Has this reveal the need for a strong, able, and ready opposition to join citizens when needed to force the government to implement change?
Has this in fact reminded us what happened on April 11, when students got to the streets and were masacred in broad daylight and opposition leaders were nowhere to be seem?
Instead some were on record calling on others to wait for a government inquiry into the killings..
Can Gambians be confident that there is an alternative capable opposition ready to take over power in times of crisis?
What say you????

I dislike politics as you know, seriously can you see thousands of Gambians assembling in Banjul and demonstrating like the Egyptians are ? Can you see the Gambian Police and army allowing the average Gambian to demonstrate in such a way? Baldeh,as you yourself have posted :
" what happened on April 11, when students got to the streets and were masacred in broad daylight and opposition leaders were nowhere to be seem? "
You have the Gambian scenaro outlined above written by yourself.

That's because they were nowhere to be seen because they'd help to instigate the Students demonstration in the first place.
Check out the archives there are rims of threads on it.
