On paper this project looks a super, great, fine idea, BUT unfortunatly there are a number of things that should have been thought about BEFORE the items are given.Not CLEAR if the machines are being used NOW in URR.
1)EDUCATION teach future operators how to use equipment.
2)Make provision for FUEL to run the machines.
3)EDUCATE the population by showing the people the advantage of the machine cultivation.
4)Consider how the cultivated produce is used, either SOLD for MONEY,or given to the local people to alliviate HUNGER.
5)EDUCATE the population that JELOUSY and TRIBAL differences have NO PLACE in the world of today,grandfathers time has gone,just a few of my thoughts.

Five communities in the Upper River Region (URR) have benefitted farming equipment supply worth 26.5 million dalasi from Agricultural Value Chain Production (AVCP) project under the Ministry of Agriculture.
The equipment includes tractors, threshers, power tillers and rice planters. They were handed through the office of the regional governor for onward transmission to the farmers in the beneficiary communities.
Project director Dr. Bully Sanyang said the equipment was provided in response to a demand made by farmers to address their plight.
Mr. Sanyang appealed to the beneficiary farmers to take great care of the equipment, reminding them that government had spent a lot of money to procure them.
Director General of Agriculture Dr. Saiku Sanyang said the equipment are expected to ease some of the burden on farmers in their farming activities, saying with the availability of the equipment, farmers production and productivity will be boosted.
Upper River Region governor Fanta Samateh-Manneh challenge all agricultural experts to support the minister to enable her complete her mission. She also advised farmers to use the equipment for their intended purpose.
In a similar development, the National Agricultural Lands and Water Management Development Project (NEMA) also handed over six tractors, twelve rice combine harvesters, eighteen rice transplanters and six milling machines to farmers.
The beneficiaries cooperatives are Genier cluster in Kiang West in the Lower River Region, Kudang and Boiram cluster in Niamina and Lower Fulladu West in CRR-South, Maana cluster in Niani CRR-North, Salikeni and Jurunku cluster in central Badibou and Upper Niumi in the Bank Region.
NEMA Project coordinator Momodou Gassama cited said the challenges confronting the country is food security which he said cannot be attained when farmers’ plight are not address.
