Posted - 07 Dec 2017 : 08:11:51 Dear All,
Just to let you know that the 5th Webinar of The Migration and Sustainable Development in Gambia (MSDG) project will be held on 9th December 2017 at 6pm GMT under the theme: ''Addressing Practical Problems Faced by Gambians in the Diaspora: Customs and Excise Department and Gambia Port Authority (GPA)''
For the MSDG project, which has been designed and implemented by GK Partners (GKP), on behalf of the Government of The Gambia, and funded by the Swiss Government, the key report would be the Gambia Diaspora Policy and Strategy – currently being developed/crafted.
The moderator of this Saturday’s 5th Webinar, Professor Gibril Faal, will be speaking, among other panellists, with Honourable Demba Jawo, Minister of Information and Communication Infrastructure, in an attempt to address some of the challenges and practical problems being faced by Gambians in the Diaspora when it comes to having dealings with both the Gambia Customs and Excise Department and Gambia Port Authority (GPA).
By the way, for the sake of clarity, be informed that the previously-named Central Revenue and Customs and Excise Departments have since been merged into the Gambia Revenue Authority (GRA). The two departments are now under one management structure.
Other panellists will include:
Joseph Njie - Deputy Commissioner, Technical Support & Monitoring, GRA
Sulayman Joof - Secretary General, Association of Customs Clearing and Forwarding Agents
Ousman Jobarteh - Deputy Managing Director, GPA
