Legislators of the Select Committee of the Local Government and Lands on Tuesday rejected the Activity and Financial reports of Banjul City Council (BCC) between 2015 and 2017, describing the reports as scanty.
Hon. Musa Amul Nyassi, the lawmaker for Foni Kansala and also the chairperson of the committee said he was disappointed that the mayor was not available to represent the said reports, giving flimsy excuse.
Hon. Nyassi told the committee that the mayor should have come and issue an apology to the committee.
“Answering to our call supersedes any other call.”
“We reviewed the documents that they tendered, and looking at the activity report, it was very scanty, a three year activity report does not even entail a ten page document and there is nothing that we can read and digest, so as a result of that, we decided not to attempt their report.”
