1894 a juridical instrument known as Gambia Protectorate Ordinance was introduced.
In MY OPINION,others MAY have their own opinions but are not prepared to discuss this topic,their choice,the lead article in the new foroyaa website,a different time, a different world to that of today,the word "native" is used,not politically correct today of course,look deeper at the meaning and fairness expressed in the extracts quoted in the article,for instance:
"The role of a chief was made evident. He was:
“responsible to the administrator for the good order of his district …” He was also “the President of the native court of such districts.”
The last sentence is worthy of further scrutiny and action by "The current powers who are responsible in The Gambia of 2014"
