Interesting quotes Toubab. The underlying philosophy in all except in that of Mark Twain is neoliberalism. Many quotes like these may often serve as great 'soundbites', but they are not supported by reality. Neoliberalism, whether under Thatcher, Reagan, or Gen. Pinochet is seriously problematic....
Thank you.

Thanks for your posting, it took a bit of thought which quotes to include that would gain responses from bantaba readership, you have highlighted this,so politicos MAY consider pushing keys on the computer keyboard,I must admit that when I saw the names,I had no idea at all who they were, hence the associated links against some names .

Here again you have exposed my lack of understanding of technical words .
I had to look up the meaning of neoliberalism.
My signature explains who I am well,so for those like me who do not use or understand such technical and specialist words here is a plain English link that will help you

http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/neoliberalism

Thanks for looking it up Toubab. I have no idea why I keep assuming that everyone knows just as much as I do .
The second definition is close enough to what I mean - hence my grouping together of Thatcher, Reagan and the deadly Pinochet, all of whom firmly stood for neoliberal ideals with Pinochet taking more extreme measures...
I wish Momodou would allow me to give details of why I think Twain is different .... :)

Why not? You are most welcome. Perhaps we should move the topic to the right forum for "politicos"

Toubab 1020. All your quotes are POLITICOS and more;

""The West behaves towards the Islamic world like a monkey with a grenade," Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin, who is known for his sharp tongue, wrote on Twitter."

"As Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin said, the U.S. is like "a monkey with a hand grenade" in the Mideast." Read more at Godfather Politics

Also "Odd. A British diplomat once said giving African and Middle Eastern countries independence was like giving a child of ten a latchkey, a bank account, and a shotgun.”"

I think so,ALL the media embellishes the truth by using "Double entendre" in order to get more readers, viewers, listeners to sell their businesses for more $ or £s to pay the shareholders big bosses
,and undefined others or for personal enhancement and financial gain of a powerful person, because the owners of such media are frightened of the powerful person.
so NO media tells the plain unvarnished truth or gives clear accurate facts, just like all politicians.

Is my perception of your visual image above correct?,please answer yes or no. (I like "simple" & uncomplicated)

If NO is answered to my question above please explain in simple plain understandable English words your perception of your posted image.

Thanks

Yes. Agree with your views and one have to be very careful with media power to sell a story. Not all reports are factual and reliable.
