This part of the reportage that stirred a debate at the post, is as follows. We will report the news as we see it, news as news. If the genuine call us to clarify, that's what we will do. The constructive criticism of our works we welcome. Whether friday's election reflects or doesn't reflect, our polls were never wrong as conducted. We move on......
part one. Yup,
Thanks Yuse. Ous, the samples conducted are numerous, though most of them unpublished. One doesn't need any technical knowhow to do a survey. All i need is someone to stand at a junction, while i am on the phone ticking my pen.
Though, agreable that the sampled area is two small, but that places like markets are diverse areas for one to use in such.
I hope to share a lot of others, and join us on the phone 2moro to sample Brikama.
The Gambia with only 1.5million people, land area 10356-the country even is two small for a big survey. (Jokes).

Yero,
Yus is right. Your sample size is TOO small. With your reported sample size of 20, a rough calculation of the margin of error (assuming this is truly a random sample) is 22%. With such a margin of error, one cannot say anything about which party is doing well in this survey. Sample size can be easily rectified in the future (just interview more people). The real problem is the degree of randomness in the sample. Not so easily tackled. My advise is that if you want to report numbers from future surveys that you and your correspondences conduct, it would be useful to get some help from groups or individuals with some experience in this so that people can take your numbers seriously.
Thanks
Ousman

Ous, here you are-
The sample of which was done in the greater Banjul area, notably SerreKunda and Banjul is believed to accurate.? Out of 20 people; 7 women, 7 youths, and 6 elderly men.
-NADD: 4 youths, 3 women, and 2 elderly men -UDP: 2 youths, 3 women, and 1 elderly man -APRC: 1 youth, 1 woman, and 3 elderly men.
If you put (i) 9/20X100 = 45% (ii) 6/20X100 = 30% (iii) 5/20X 100 = 25%
Sampled at random, but with intention to talk to at least twenty people with more women, and men-knowing that constitute the voting majority.
How accurate? To me 100 %
Note: Remember, this is a survey, with choice of sample.? More to follow !
Thanks, Yero.

Part two

Thanks for the private mail Ous. It is ok to argue it here too. And i definately stand by the poll, in as much what was conducted, was done in a spirit to give an output of a picture-and that picture is what we published here. Thanks for the advice too, and i value it much. Your challenge of the poll is respected, and done in a spirit to authenticate the facts.
Part of what should? accompany this arguement is another "poll", showing the difference of the two. In that may, we make comparisons of two polls from two different parties. If possible, even take the avearge of the two polls. But basically one doesn't have to agree or disagree with it, but that's what is on the ground, as conducted. I didn't misunderstand your stance-everyone is arguing just fine, and that's what i expect from honest intellectruals, and from our end to be responsible and accountable for what we say.
Now manjang-if i may ask, what are your polls from home ? How are you able to say what you heard is truer than this one-though, appreciate this debate. Lets here your own polls.
Though, a NADD supporter like many here, and could only wish NADD the best of the best lucks, but still, i exercise precaution.
Polls help to show pictures or skeletons. Come 2moro when the sea waves change direction, that's what we will report. News as seen by us, and news as news.
We can still argue it to the end. On election day, we will be polling and reporting for people in this forum and at camara.dk. A complete day off !!
Yero, on behalf of GON.
Call your friends, family members and loved ones at home- tell them the only hope is NADD, and that they should vote for NADD. People have a right to support an agenda, especially that which free our world from oppression. The mere fact of one being an associate to a news paper doesn't justify that one cannot support a party. The rule to be neatral and fair must be respected, but that when it is rough, with betrayals and killers all around us, there is no way on earth we can sell a killers or traitor's agenda. For example sam Sarr of Foroyya. Yero's Opinion.
More polls- Thanks all for the nice debate.
