Kibaaro news and Radio will join the dynamic Gambian on-line media in carrying news, commentaries, interviews, debates, discussions, poems, short stories and counter-punching provocative and factual base materials. It will belabour to publish expert commentary in all aspects of our socio-economic, legal, the arts, religious, and fictional domains of our rich society.
Kibaaro News and Radio is happy to join the rest of the media fraternity in decimating information, thereby creating mass awareness and enhancing our democracy and mental growth.

Kobo,
You are right but Halifa Sedia and Mai Fatty are all on the Logo It appears the white board with Kibaaro news has covered them We shall try reinstate them on areas where they can become visible to people.

Thank you for letting us know. Nothing intended there just that the site drafter who doesn't know who is who in the Gambia defaced those very important Gambians. It shall be corrected soon.x

Kobo,I agree with you,IT APPEARS that this new media is quite good and acting like a fair broker in relation to news, this for instance:
http://kibaaro.com/?p=962
and a statement from an officer who recognises the benefit of interaction between Police and community after all a police officer must be part of the community to do his job:
Snippet:
“Community policing is very important in combating crime and violence within communities,”
They cite lack of transports as one of their main concerns, important but not critical,if police are to interact with community then they should be KNOWN to that community and be part of it,the community for its part MUST BE OBLIGED TO ASSIST police officers if requested ,so why is transport so vital ? PRACTICALLY everyone in Gambia has a Mobile phone including every police officer I suspect ,so community police officers can work quite happily on foot within their communities who should know their mobile phone number if they want help, advice,or can assist in detecting crime, the community officer can contact his supervisor/station for support or assistance, there is also the PIU S roving about in pickups if urgent assistance is required, come on boys get your act together and stop bleating,EVERYONE would like something that they haven't got but manage the job with the available resources,OK phone calls can be reclaimed from official funds, that's only fair, and officers on duty do travel without charge on most forms of transport in Gambia anyway.
My only concern is that when political activity is about the "paper" my be biased
anyway lets see how things go.

It looks Kibaaro is flaring well and honestly it appears that some of my negative comments/observations may be wrong assumptions, pre-mature and fallacious

To keep abreast with information am really following them with very interesting news and enjoyed this editorial from one of the editors putting its house in order;

There must be reasons why selective publicity photos with double for UDP leader featured in Kibaaro news homepage without important icons like Halifa, Sidia Jatta and Mai Fatty at forefront of kibaaro logo ("FIGHTING FOR JUSTICE IN THE GAMBIA") out? There is always UDP-UK militants and popular political faces high-jacking national cause(peoples revolution), doing business, agenda and propaganda for UDP

The Jalibaa Kuyateh kora music is really cool but BEWARE OF PROMOTING TRIBALISM AND RIVALRY "FOR ONE GAMBIA ONE NATION WITH DIVERSE PEOPLE"; in the competitive sense that Freedom news mainly with Pa Nderry Mbai in wollof chats and Kibaaro news for mandinka audience? However photo of Pa Ndery Mbai (Freedom news Editor/Proprietor) featured in Kibaaro homepage is a sign of SOLIDARITY AND PATRIOTISM

Keep up the good work and congratulations.

I wonder whether Pa Modou Bojang and Yaya Dampha now associated with Kibaaro has quitted Freedom on-line news team for "Meng Beh Kering" also featured in Kibaaro news for these observations
  • In Freedom news homepage "‘Meng Beh Kering’ means ‘What’s On’ in Mandinka is a weekly radio show on Freedom Radio, with the aim of informing both Gambians and friends of The Gambia, both inside and outside of the country. The programme is in Mandinka, which is the most spoken dialect in The Gambia. The programme focuses on discussion and dialogue around current issues that are going on in the country, with analysis and commentary from experts. The programme is produced and presented by Journalist, Pa Modou Bojang, in the UK in collaboration with colleague and fellow Human Rights Activist, Yaya Dampha, in Sweden. You can take part in by joining to gambiankolu.kibaro (Skype)"

Also in Kibaaro news homepage "Watch out for the Radio program called "Meng Be Kerring" translated as What's Happening with Editor Pa Modou Bojang and Editor Yaya Dampha coming soon. Contact Pa Modou at: news@kibaaro.com"

  • Can anyone help why Freedom radio appear to be off-line (couple of days now without any reception with me) but Kibaaro news clearly on air with me (now listening to voices of two of its team members Pa Modou Bajang and Yaya Dampha)? Also ‘Meng Beh Kering’ programme to come out with them now (from above)?

Just curious whether Pa Modou Bojang (as radio technician) hired or introduced being with Kibaaro news team has to do anything with it and/or will be or not missed by Freedom news?
